If I have my facts correct that was one of the reasons that they had to stop production all down the fact that Renault (more precisely their supplier) stop producing the gear box for the 25

Still loving them both Roadie - esp. the Countach - takes me back to being a 13 yr old and going out in one and loving every minute

It really is my dream car - but I'd never drive one as I'd probably hate it, realise my childhood was over, sink into a deep depression and then the universe would collapse in on itself killing everyone and everything

I think I'm putting the children of the world first therefore by not ever driving one

Me too.

Never driven a Countach, but been a passenger in one a couple of times and I'm not a fan.

The final versions encapsulate the zeitgeist of the mid-late '80's IMHO. Whilst living in London at that time, they were seemingly everywhere, most often driven by wealthy Arab types. I recall one outside Stringfellows, where the driver gave the valet a wad probably twice my monthly salary. And there was often one parked outside the Portman Hotel - completely colour-coded IIRC - presumably whilst the owner was indulging in sins of the flesh with the Jewish escorts who allegedly frequented the place...

Funny, cos I had exactly the same thoughts. Then I said "f**k it" and grabbed the keys.

DAMN YOU!

Now I've got the dilemma of starting Armageddon vs. driving the love of my life
