Default Flashed!

Driving into Tunbridge Wells / Southborough at the heady speed of 5mph and got flashed by the bloody Gatso! There were 4 or 5 cars on the white lines at the time so I suppose it's one of those cases where the camera gets confused, but it doesn't fill me with a whole lot of confidence about a machine that gives out pain and misery so readily to us motorists (I don't, incidentally, agree at all with people speeding in 30mph/residential zones, etc).

I also got flashed in France but I wasn't quite so innocent...I presume I won't be getting a letter soon from Inspector Clouseau?

Two flashes, two images a measured time apart (half a second of so).
You can see who has moved the most between the pictures so dont worry.
France? Nah, they dont seem to bother with mailing camera stuff out. Yet.

They won't send you anything from France. The problems come if you get pulled whilst in France. I don't know if it's a bit of an urban myth but I think they can take your car off you.

My impression was they prefer to fine you. Too much hassle getting a car towed etc. Beside the French are a bit broke and need the money

on the spot fine

no cash on you and you will be given a lift to the cashpoint

still no money - car impounded until you get some

they also stamp on radar detectors/blockers if they feel like it

not myths

Is that one near the green where they play cricket a lot? If so cars coming the other way set it off - done it a few times my self (but only one flash...)

Yes, with the green on the right as you're going into TW. I've probably passed you in that case - I see a few S2000s around these parts. Though going into TW I'm usually in a yellow Punto.

They will do this if you are caught at 50+ kph over the limit if there is nobody else eligible to drive the car accompanying you.

They will also take your papers off you.

You were recognised as not driving a posh enough car, and/or have failed to send off your weekly moaning letter to The Times signed 'disgusted of Tunbridge Wells'.
