Seen this weeks Autocar, will it happen?
Those 'images' are getting so good you can
hardly tell if its a photo or a generated pic.

Anyway it will make the ST obsolete

Why bother. You would have thought that Vauxhall had proved with their crazy VXR cars that's it's just a waste of time trying to put masses of power through the front wheels.

Does anyone remember the RWD Escort they nearly made about 10 years ago?

It was made of Escort Cosworth and Scorpio bits IIRC, can't remember what the engine was, but pretty sure it was a N/A 4 pot.

It looked like a toned down Cosworth with the arches but not the big spoiler.

Never made the light of day

iirc they made the Escort Cosworth, which was 'really' a shortened Sierra Cosworth

and they also made an RS2000

although I don't think it was rwd (like the original)

not heard of the car you describe

It had been put together by Ford's rally people at Boreham and was featured in Cars and Car Conversions (a very nerdy motorsport orientated mag) several times and I think they even ran some sort of campaign to get Ford to produce it.

It's coming back now, it was the Escort Cosworth shell, a Scorpio diff, can't remember the gearbox, and a tuned version of the engine from the FWD RS2000.

Can't find anything on google, but I'm not going mad, honest
