Looks like it's off to Channel 4 http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-35149963
No ad breaks at least. Not sure how good a thing this is.
I'll continue watching on Sky, although I will be watching it live in Singapore this year (the parties afterwards are the main reason for going!)

I'll be going to the SGP GP too! It will be my first time to an F1 race. Have you purchased your tickets already?

Nice! Which grandstand are you in?

I'm going to be working in KL next year, so I intend to get my annual live GP fix at Sepang & Singapore.

Watching live GP is a disappointment, but if you do it anywhere, do Singapore. I've spent quite a bit of time there in various trips, and to me it's my favourite place on earth Just love the architecture and culture, and particularly the history and ex colonial feel to it.

LG, do Changi prison and the Night Safari.

Back to F1, I see Button has split with his Doris!

Blimey, I would never have expected that, they've only been married a year.

Can't be affecting him to much mind, plenty of pictures of him riding his rather expensive pushbike in Italy on his instagram.
No doubt wants to get out of the house.

Yep looking back at all his posts, he seems pretty selfish with his time! If he wasn't doing F1, he's doing triathlon, playing with cars or other stuff. Shame as he only has 1 more season and being out of F1 may have changed things, I'm sure he won't be short of available clunge

Thanks Mark,

I recalled your comments about how much you enjoyed Singapore a few years back and they encouraged me to go. Tips for night safari and Changi are noted.

I think Jake Humphrey and DC might be involved in the 2016 coverage because they founded Whisper Films which does sports coverage and C4 have a stake in them.

As an aside, this morning I caught a little of the 1968 classic movie 'The Love Bug'.

In the movie, Mr Granatelli, the president of the club organising the El Dorado Gold Rush road race, made an introduction that those running contemporary F1 may wish to ponder over...

"... other than that, we've tried to reduce the rules to a minimum.

Instead of all this technical namby-pamby there's so much of today,

We're putting the emphasis on speed, endurance and courage, the way it used to be.

As you know, this is open formula racing. Anything goes.

Any style of car and crew you wish.

The object, gentlemen, is to win."

Anything goes, with the objective of winning sounds fantastic, or to make the racing really close, simplified , non-aero equipped cars.

I would prefer the former; F1 with ground effect, fans, active suspension, active aero; anything other than the sport as it is now with marketing focused shite being the objective. Who'd have imagined that the new F1 cars will run low-profile tyres to make them appear 'more relevant' to the day-to-day cars the audience drive...

The rules are hardly a new thing, see 1976 and the "wide load" McLaren.
