I bought a cheap £400 E30 318i to cut the (boring) miles down on the S, so I naturally joined E30zone.net to get some info on the car etc.

Anyway decided to put some cheap JOM coilovers on it to make it look a bit better and I'm now getting both barrels off the enthusiasts for doing it on the cheap!!!!!!!!

Haha the car cost £400 for crist sake, why do peopke get so touchy about cars, someone said 1k+ is the price you should pay for coilovers!!!!!!

Quite right too.

What price safety?

Get your brakes uprated while you're about it and some top notch Tyres. It is the ultimate driving machine afterall.

And no knock offs!

Haha, on the plus side it did fly through its MOT today. A £400 E30 now with 12 months mot and 6 months tax.

Anyone wanna buy an S2000? I've got some upgrading to do.......

And yes i'm the same with the S and MK1 Golfs sometimes :-)

What car was it on Topgear that they kept dropping caravans on? Oh the abuse they got from the owners club.......

And you support this stance by having a photo of your S as a sig?

I'm not so sure I buy the argument that the car costs £400 so put 20p coilovers on it. If it;s a shopping car then I guess it doesn;t matter, but you can bet they will be worse that what BMW put on there.

We get this with the S2000.

"Oh but these cars are cheap now so I thought i'd buy ebay coilovers to replace the several thousand pound OEM Showa coilovers and improve the handling"

Logic?
