There are many reasons to sign this:

I appreciate what you have done, but until more forceful public direst e.g French style riots, nothing will happen.

However much i dislike the French, the don't half know how to riot.

Is that all you can say?

That is the mentality I wish to overcome.

If you don't ask, you don't get.

It can't be ignored forever...I have started writing a letter every week (think Shawshank Redemption) to George Osborne, David Cameron and my MP, in order to pester them into thinking about the problem more than they currently do.

That's my point, it has been asked, and we don't get. If I had a buck for every one of these stupid e-petitions I've signed where nothing has changed I'd have about $25. Mr 'roids is right. We need some proper rioting. Smash the crap out of Westminster relentlessly until they bow down and work for the population instead of against them.

It has been asked, but not supported.

People would rather look on FB for 2 extra minutes than take the time to sign it

Signed

Nothing achieves less in life than apathy.....I'd rather sign this than do nothing at all and just moan about petrol prices.

I'm afraid that only utter Union fury that could help to spark a General mass strike would get this issue noticed. This will be the ONLY way to reduce pricing, not rioting (as this is proved to do f*ck all). The govt wont be forced to cough back taxes though.
If the Falkland issue dies down (which it won't) and the Argies give us the oil we're attempting to drill... here's hoping we'll use it.
Likely though that we'd sell it, instead of use the stuff.
The govt has completely cocked right up selling North Sea and Irish Sea oil. We should be oil rich, not paying daft imported pricing. Business Studies, Economics... whatever. Govts are greedy, ours is one of the worst.

One day, you'll be taxed if you fart

utter shite. rioting solves nothing and is the stupidest logic ever thought up.

- "we want to pay lower taxes! hey lets smash stuff and cause damage, expense and generally ruin a lot of people's livelihoods and de-stabalise a country."

And then they wonder why taxes go up - gee... perhaps its to fix the damage, put people that dont have jobs anymore on social support, put the culprits in jail dining on the abiding tax payer's dime, and try and offset the deficit created due to an ever more unstable economy, because twunts think that rioting is good idea.

No economic benefit has ever been derived from rioting. fact. it is a last resource for peoples of countries where they are kept starving and are murdered by their own government. Its just petty to think that rioting should be a tool for something as petty as a few p in the litre.

If its that much of an issue to you, become a lobbyist, activist, or politician (the kind that believe in what they say) and fix it from within.

I realise i am perhaps over-reacting to KingRevo's comment (sorry), but damn it, the whole concept and the logic used to defend it (i'm thinking of the london riots) is so irrational and petty - it really makes my blood boil!
