I am still toying with an Exige-S instead of the S, and that'll have to cope with mileage. So long as you get a/c it should be fine - Id be happy doing long distance in Chris's, and with creative packing the boot should be okaayyyyish too.
I drove an Exige (non-S) on the road the other day, and was stunned at how civilised and comfortable it was. I'd quite happily do long distances in one of those

Must've been. Did the earlier S2s run with K-Series engines, with 118bhp like the original Elise?

I know they run Toyota units now but there was a changeover, wasn't there?

He was basic. Anything bearing the 111R or 135 badges I would've given all due deference to and left well alone! Still looked a lovely little car, though, I am a big fan of the Elise (and Exige).

There was until recently, an S2 with the 120bhp Rover 1.8, the 111S with the 156 bhp KSeries VVC thingummyjig, and the 111R with the 'yota VVTi lump - not much quicker than the S, more cammy than the 111S, and less torquey.

Now they offer a normal 134 bhp Elise with a yota engine, and the 111R (and the Exige S which is mental - my mate has one!!)

I thought the 135 was equal to the my S last night until 100-110 and then I pulled qutie a few lengths. Having said that, there is no way of knowing when he backed off, but I am convinced he began to fall back.

I would love to follow an Elise through the twisties, not sure if I could have kept up with the 135 in that instance, but it would be good fun trying

Don't say things like that Graham! I'm trying to enojying the less severed depreciation drop of a 4 year old car. Statements like that will get me in a whole heap of financial trouble!

The S would put up a good fight, but there would be no comparison. I am still utterly shocked when I exit a roundabout or tight section of corners with how easily the car disposes with them.

I'm selling mine, if anyone's interested.

Yes, I know I've only had it 5 minutes, but a change of plans, and the chance to complete the Fury kit in double quick time have both come my way and I have decided to test the market.

I'm in no rush, but if anyone is interested:-

I know zilch about Elises..... what is the value new of that car - so I understand the 2nd hand cost. How would it house a lanky 6'4'' streak of piss?
