Fun with an Elise
Was driving home last night when I had a little play with an Elise 135. We both made a few overtakes and then got stopped at the lights - single carriageway. I didn't leave the lights aggressively (don't think you can in an 06) but VTEC'd through 1/2/3/4/5.... it wasn't until high 4th and into 5th that I pulled any sort of distance, I did have my roof down, his was up. We both had big grins and I gave him a wave as I entered a roundabout.
It was a great little blast, however, I was slightly suprised to see him follow me into my street
he got out, came over to see me... I was a little worried at this stage, and started to think that his smile and wave may have been somthing else, but he was a nice chap and invited me to a track day at Donnington
It's cracking deal, 15 Sept - open pit lane,

I am still toying with an Exige-S instead of the S, and that'll have to cope with mileage. So long as you get a/c it should be fine - Id be happy doing long distance in Chris's, and with creative packing the boot should be okaayyyyish too.
I had a play with an Elise S2 on the A4174 a few months ago, he was gunning out of roundabouts but I'm guessing he was a basic 120bhp model as I managed to overhaul him fairly easily. But he wasn't best pleased, so I was a bit disappointed. I'd have given him a
I think the Elise is a nice car.
Bog standard Elises run out of puff at about 100 (k)ph - I'm surprised he wasn't friendlier, but as an owner, you don't half get some tools trying it on, so we try not to get involved too much...
That's not aimed at you, but they are a small car and it can be intimidating if someone is trying to "play" - you are never quite sure if its done with fun or menace intended usually.

I love how the Elise handles roundabouts, it's so much fun.
I had a blast with another jap sportsbike yesterday and the guy stayed behind me all the way till I turned off at a roundabout. He stuck the visor off, shouted that's "that wee thing's f**king fast isn't it!" smiled and drove off. I think the 111R is the perfect car for me.

I just think he was brassed off because I was quicker in a straight line. I wanted to get him out of the car and say: "Mate, don't be disappointed, your car would outhandle mine in pretty much any situation, it's not a problem!"
