haha.. i already have a sketchy Honda..

new you can pick up for sub 11k with warranty and stuff.. now i have the Jacky slag for dirty days and will set it up with hand guards for winter.. if i can get it running a bit sweeter and starting easier then it should hammer that remit. could then swap the XS and the next one be a dry bike. two winters batter a bike regardless of acf gunk ime, as good as it is

i actually like the XSR900 quite a lot too.

mine is 2017, just over 2 years old.. it has pattina which is sad but hey ho..

sense would say 100% keep it. 6k miles from new by me, i believe a careful owner so i know its been looked after and now the ABS has been sorted.. i think that twin is the perfect bike for how i use it, i wont ever tour on it, its terrible at speed with no fairing but great around town and they have a good rep for reliability

it helped me that the new CRF was rubbish, the one i have is a town hooligan and droppable, i've tinkered a bit with the XS of late so might continue down that path.. like some of the modded ones like that super 7 a lot

the CB1000r is much better quality than the 600 but i bet a lot cheaper than your 400 in some bits

Yep. It was an import and has nice bits on it. Build quality on that 93 bike is far far better.

I miss my old CB500 though - should get another twin and a triple ... time for a new job and a bigger garage :-)

that level of build quality is big £ now. the Nortons are nice but feck knows what they are like to own

look at the CB600r, its pish cheap like, but i think worse than, my XS

the 1000r is better but approaching double the money

Quite like that - would like it more without the inevitable silly cat / emissions restrictions

all an easy fix as the cat aint tested on the bike MOT

110hp (wheel), 64lbft and 212kg

they are tidy but probably a bit ott for a naked and heavy for a commuter they way i use mine

to illustrate the idea of a money pit i whipped off the wheels to get them straightened up as they were quite buckled

not viable, spokes siezed.. £400 later new rims and heavy duty spokes

now just acf up the spokes and i have a winter beater.. will probably fit barkbusters as the stator on these does not have the grunt for heated grips...
