How come it's got the orange lenses and plastic rear window then?
I think that those changes were made in 2003.

The model received a minor facelift in 2003. The plastic rear window was replaced by a glass window. Porsche installed a different exhaust pipe and modified air intake. In addition, the often disliked orange "fried egg" front indicators were replaced with clear glass indicators, and the rear light cluster was also changed from red to clear.
EDIT: Hard to believe that the Boxsters have been around for over 10 years !

What does the V5 say ?
I am worried about this, dont pick it up till 8pm, I will post that answer tommorow. What I can say is HPi, VRR and the insurance all say the same - 2002.

The chap is one of these type that doesnt seem to know much about cars and documents, I guess he has never took that much notice of the date on the V5, just assumed its a T plate due to it being on one!!

Good point from the Piemeister - the 2.5 was phased out way before 2002.

If that's the case then I worry about how much attention he pays to the road while driving

Sounds like a very good result potentially
