Getting hold of a helmet
I know the whys and wherefores of helmet purchase for trackdays has been done to death, but I thought it was time it was done again.
For my own selfish needs of course.
Does anyone know of any current bargains to be had - preferably in shops rather than internet/mail order as I'll want to try it on.

First thoughts are maybe try somewhere like GPW in Chiswick, or ask MarkB and do the opposite of what he says based on his current form.

Mark, much as I don't value your advice, can you let me know what you think about gloves/boots too?
Gloves I think are going to be a requirement for trackdays, but I doubt I'll wear them on the road unless it's winter.. will have to see how that works out.
Boots - safety aside, are they worth it over a decent pair of 'slim fit' trainers?

Spend as much as you can, and get one with Snell SA2000 (it's what the MSA require for motorsport), which (IIRC) is tougher than the equivalent BS6658.
Brands are similar in quality when you're paying plenty I think, get the one which offers the best fit and ventilation.
