Things have generally been starting to look up over the last few months. Moved from 1 shift to 2 shift operations again and the 10% reduction in pay/working hours will be put on hold at least in August/September.

Adding in a new product to the plant (ok actually just a variation of our existing ZR engine) will help boost volumes.

TFFT!

Did think about you when I read it on Automotive News a few days back!

Is the Auris the same complex one with the two elecric motors as the bigger cars, or does it use a conventional light Hybrid drive like the Insect?

There should have been a health warning that the article contained pictures of, or references to Peter Mandelson

My understanding is it will be the same Series/Parallel system used by the Prius. Able to run purely on motor/engine/both. We're just making the engine component of it. It uses a variation of the 2ZR (1.8L) engine we already make.

Essentially we make 4 key varients at the moment:
1. 1ZR Dual VVTi
2. 2ZR Dual VVTi
3. 1ZR Valvematic
4. 2ZR Valvematic

Number 5 will be 2ZR Hybrid
Think the key differences are the pistons, cams, cam carrier, loses one of the VVTi's. We're still getting the technical specs at the moment on it though.
