GT-R Track Session with supercars
Hi folks,
Took the Countach and the GT-R to the Scottish Motorfair at the weekend. With exceptional weather and a good mix of supercars present as well as an F1 Arrows (which blew up on it's last lap!) it was a great two days.
Cars
We parked the countach and left it off the track as it's shortly to get a new clutch (guess how much! ) and we didn't want it to break at Knockhill. Besides, it had company.
A few Ferraris joined the main group, in particular one very nice dark green '355 (one of 4) and a black 612 Scaglietti.
One of the 599s present had the largest disks I think I've ever seen!
And a red 355 looked particularly well kept
Group Shot
A Honda S800
And, ...I just want to check something on that white Countach again....
Other show cars (will feature on a YouTube Video soon)
Tesla: Nice but small. Way too expensive, but I wonder if that'll change if they sell more.
Ford Focus RS500: Very quick. I was impressed, but I don't like the matt black finish. One scratch and you'll see it a mile off.
On track
My friend and I shared his GT-R, this being the first time it's seen the track. It was pre-inspected at Nissan beforehand and it's in for a post-inspection today.
I was first off. For company on the Knockhill circuit I had a Noble, various 355/360's, a 328GTB, a couple of souped up Lotus's (the race spec ones), two Diablos, two murcielagos and a porsche GT3RS.
The GT-R was awesome. Easily keeping up with everything on the circuit, although I will admit to letting the Lotus's, Atom and Porsches past me on the corners. Afterwards, the Diablo drivers (much more confident around the track that I am) were telling me how amazed they were that the GT-R caught up so fast and overtook with such ease. It was really astonishing.
At around a minute, the GT-R was lapping about 15 seconds slower than the F1 car, albeit that the Arrows was having problems all day.
Fabulous weekend, great weather, sunburnt neck and one S2Ki member (martinj) popped by to say hello.

I saw you Graham, but you were well penned in so i couldn't come over and say hi.
It was a very good event and the weather was exceptional for Knockhill!
I liked the F1 car, but the vehicles that blew me away were the little carts with the full faring on. They were lapping only 5sec slower the the F1 car around the track
I spoke to the driver after it and he said he was hitting 140mph and braking 50m before the hairpin! Amazing little things like
