People who buy (new) Porsches are unlikely to be swayed by a Nissan.
No matter how good (or bad) it is.

Exactly what my Boss said.
Has a 997 4S at the moment and he said he would happily spend another

So he knows he is paying for the badge, and is happy to do so.
Is it worth the extra, depends how much money you've got?

Porsche, Land Rover and Aston Martin are all over 50% down this August, compared to August 2007.
Porsche only registered 119 cars in August - down from 282 the previous August.
Crunchy.

The 26% fall is mirrored only by Aston Martin, Bentley are 17% down, Lexus 23.6% down. BMW, Audi and Mercedes all up.
Lots of data here http://www.smmt.co.uk/articles/artic...rticleid=17990
One figure that really amused me;
The fat bastard GT-R is (source; Porsche) is a massive 20Kg heavier than the 997 Turbo, which is why they couldn't understand it.
More foot ballistics (and a lot of free Nissan publicity!) from Porsche?

I think the GTR's quicker. I have no doubt about it.
What porsche have probably realised is that the GTR that's on sale is the entry-level car.
Once Nissan introduce the 'aggressive' versions, porsche are gonna be buggered.
I do laugh at these people going on about brand names. Who gives a stuff. Nissan have been making successful performance cars for over a decade! I think the GTR name carries as much weight as the Porsche name now.
Bit like the s2000 - who'd have though a 28 grand drop top would take 600bhp on stock internals!?
