Porsche, Land Rover and Aston Martin are all over 50% down this August, compared to August 2007.

Porsche only registered 119 cars in August - down from 282 the previous August.

Crunchy.
Porsche owns 31% stock in VW, which owns Audi, Lamborghini, Bently, Bugatti, Seat, and Skoda

VW also comprises - Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles

One figure that really amused me;

The fat bastard GT-R is (source; Porsche) is a massive 20Kg heavier than the 997 Turbo, which is why they couldn't understand it.

More foot ballistics (and a lot of free Nissan publicity!) from Porsche?
Yes, but anyone who falls for any of this crap is only going to see numbers being bigger or smaller than other numbers because that is the extent of their understanding.

I bet Nissan and Porsche are p*ssing themselves laughing at us lot

I think they take it quite seriously, as they know the majority of people are influenced by lap times on Top Gear / Nurburgring etc.

Rightly or wrongly...

I'd be more influenced (albeit still hardly at all) by a Ring time than a Top Gear time

But headline stats are still enough for me

They tell me where a car will stand against other cars in a range of road situations

For example, anything witha 0-60 of sub six seconds and a 0-100 of under 12, is unlikely to be inconvenienced by anything they will encounter on a typical road drive

And let's face it, that's what you want on the road isn't it?

The ability to make rapid, unimpeded progress, as safely as possible

Sounds like you need an Evo, or a GTR

I've had EVOs pass through my hands - not the most practical car in the world, ghastly fuel consumption, unrefined and attract all the wrong attention

so no, I don't need one

as for a GTR, too impractical and performance I don't need in a daily driver

for a toy, neither are anywhere near exclusive enough

People really have to stop focussing on ring times by different drivers in different conditions as some sort of arbiter. They're meaningless, as are Top Gear times.
Well said.

I'm glad it's not just me
