So it is childish to show that something someone else claimed is wrong? I don't agree with this point of view at all. The wrong doer gets to sit with a smirk on their face while the wronged must just sit and take it? The world is not that polite any more. Nissan can always refer back to the price difference and that should be enough for them. No need to let a lie live on.

This mag look like they did a good job on this test. A lot better I think than an individual nissan run followed by an individual porsche run a few months later.

Credible story in my books, with creditable conclusions.

I don't think that's the point. Nissan claim they did it in lot quicker time than the Porsche and this mag has just proved it wrong. Money has no bearing on this IMO.
Eh? Porsche claimed that they couldn't get the GT-R round the ring in under 7:54.

The staffer did it in 7:55 on a damp track

It is almost certainly a given that the GT2 will be faster than the Nissan under optimal 20

I think the price tag on the GT2 gets in the way of the argument to some extent.

Yes this is the Price Porsche charge, but will be nothing like the actual production cost.
The same will apply to any of the 911's.

Porsche along with many manufactures (Mercedes, M series BMW's, Ferrari, etc) artificially inflate the prices to maintain some sort of grading of thier cars relative to each other and to similar cars in the market.

Nissan has nothing else in its line up near this (my knowlegde if Nissan cars being very small) so they can afford to make some proffit on this and target at a price that makes other manufactures feint.

No doubt Porsche, Mercedes and BMW (to name a few) could drop thier prices to compete but then it throws thier whole car lineup out of sync and if GT2's were only

[QUOTE=Starlight,Nov 24 2008, 12:42 PM] And while everyone is going Porsche must be bricking it (clearly they have been rattled) then what about Ferrari, Spiker, Zonda, etc who achieve similar or not even as good track times for considerably more cost
