GTR v GT2
That's basically why Porsches are poor Value for Money and the GT-R not.
BTW, for those who wish to split heirs, it's a fuecking Prince Skyline GT-R, Not a Datsun (or even Datson)!
As for 'exclusivity' it's something we're all guilty of to a degree, but it's a bit risible really. There are only 2 driveable Borgward 2.3s in the UK. That's German and exclusive!

If Porsche really were the engineering company they used to be,
That makes them a bank. So I was right all along, Porsche drivers are a bunch of bankers.
And you still miss the point, deliberately or not I can't decide.

Daimler 66 V12 coupes similarly so
But there are levels of exclusivity......
As Trinis points out, people who cannot afford better, like to tease supercar owners
This misses the point (there's a lot of that going on)
The majority of people who will buy/could buy a GTR, simply could not afford a F430 or a Murcie
That's good, and why there will always be a market for things that cost vastly more than they cost to make, or indeed are 'worth'
Can you imagine what it would do for humankind if everything was achievable or attainable by everyone?
So yes, your GTR goes round the Nurburgring faster than my Ferrari
But I could afford several of your Datsuns, whereas you could not afford one of my Fezzas
I don't want something (at any price point really) that every Tom, Dick and Harry owns

Anyone know the cost of producing a GTR? Maybe Datsun is selling them at a loss / minimal profit because they can since they sell trucks, and really bad automobiles like the sunny etc., where they can recoup their loses. Porsche, as far as I know, only sells performance cars and an suv, so they can't stuff there losses somewhere else. Maybe.
It is the mantra cry of the young though, to worship the cheaper stuff out of japan (like evo, sti etc., gtr) that can beat up on the high priced exotics. When young and now starting one's professional life with little to one's name (save for old money and drug dealers), one can't see one's way into a Ferrari, Omega or Porsche, so you just slam against them with "xyz (jap) car is as fast at 1/4 the cost...". That cry is so tired.
I can't wait for the obviously to be overpriced Honda NSX replacement. It probably won't be any faster than the GTR, but I would much rather be in that than the GTR as I work my way towards the Euro trash.

However, if a guy pulled up in a Murci/Gallardo/F430/Zonda etc etc, you can bet your bottom dollar i'd be over having a nose asking him if I could sit in it and if he could do a flyby.
I love all that stuff, even though i'll never be able to afford any of it.
Not so with a Porsche (unless 964 or earlier
)
