Default High level brake lights.

Followed a new cooper S today and noticed that when the driver braked the high level brake light flashed quickly 4/5 times before going on solidly, anyone else seen similar on another car.? It certainly made me pay attention.

Normally it meant they were breaking really hard. They had it on the VXR range IIRC

Is it legal?
I guess it must be....

Big bimmer lights extra, brighter segments on the boot cluster,
and the EU renault would run it's hazards if braking near threshold above 120 IIRC.

It's the automotive equivalent of girls shrieking & flapping their elbows about.

It may be of some genuine safety benefit to tailgating Audi drivers, I suppose.

I've noticed flashing brake lights on the Insignias. I think it's a good idea, as it attracts more attention. Of course it will only work (to attract attention) if every other vehicle doesn't have the same set up. I'd like to have similar on the S!

Flashing lights on Insignias usually mean you've been exceeding the speed limit.
