Honda Civic 1.6i SR
A mate of mine recently purchased a 1997 Honda Civic 1.6i SR and wants to replace the existing engine with something a little newer.
He's asked whether any of our forum techno-boffs could advise how big & new he can go before it overwhelms the car. So any suggestions would be very welcome!
Many thanks in advance.

I agree with Ron, a B18C from a JDM DC2 or a B18C6 from a UK DC2 would be a good choice (note NOT the B18C4 from the 5-dr Civic VTi).
If your friend has got deep pockets a K20A2 from an EP3 or better still a K20A from a DC5 would be the ultimate IMO.
If he's on a budget go for a B16A2 from an EG6 or EK4.
Chris.

Cheers chaps, I knew you'd come up trumps! Thanks very much for your input, it's much appreciated!
I'll pass on the info verbatim as much of it is over my head to be honest!
