That's undoubtably true, Rich.
Yet ultimately, they're a slightly pretentious and expensive Golf-clone.
It's just rather a case of badge-engineering bit too far. Just like the Riley Elf version of the IssiMini; the denizen of the M&S car park.

i dunno what you've done to your Noddy car Andy but as stock it's 306bhp and 1560kg so about 196bhp/ton, not considerably better than the much better looking 335i ![biggrin.gif](https://www.s2ki.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
perfect car for me would be a Sagaris or one of the daft Lambo's (LP640 etc)

You do get the occasional prat like that: The marshals ought to deal with them and usually do.
But like you say, the Elise and S2000 are narrow enough and quick enough to be useful on the roads. Much over 1.8 metres wide and lane overtaking can get a tad fraught, since most people cannot even steer straight and SUVs are so roly-poly they must cut every corner.

Lotus vs Ferrari, they usually think the Fezza is the one being held up. Same with 911s.
It's why I do a lot of test days, no worries about being let through, you just go past when you want

interesting that first hand exige experience, which one do you have power wise? i absolutely always move over if someone catches me up, it's clear that they're going quicker because they've caught me and you can always try to keep up once they're past.
i guess your experience is more ego issues than anything else but why on earth anything except proper exotica or trackday cars feel they can keep pace with an exige on track?

I think that trackday noobs tend not to appreciate that they are holding someone up if they are managing a similar lap time. They see that the car behind isn't really catching them (on the straights, where it's easiest to look) and so tend not to believe that they are holding someone up.
It's rarely deliberate IMO.
