Anyone tell me how much a 2001 bmw conv, 330 ci sport is worth. Its a Cat D and done 27,500 miles. Or how much less than the going rate is a Cat d car, percentage wise?

25% off going rate. At least.

When was it written off? What was the damage?

I wouldn't buy a written off car. If I did I would DEFINITELY want documentation of what happened to it and what all the repairs was. I'd also have it checked out to make sure it's sound.

Tuppence.

It should be worth no more than 2/3 the value of a car in similar condition that isn't cat D.

A lot of people pay a lot more than this

It was written off. Otherwise it wouldn't be Cat D.

I presume you mean it wasn't involved in a hefty crash.

the Holy Grail of Cat Ds is the stolen car that is recovered

with no damage, all the keys, and only a couple of miles on the clock

fact is, they are rare as they sound

but sellers always like the stolen recovered line for obvious reasons
