I too have always loved the Esprit, such a shape, a real kid's thought in design regarding a sports car.

And let's not forget damn quick. I hear the gearbox is a major downside though.

Cerbera's again are a gorgeous car but my mate's, which he had from new, has been wholly unreliable. A real nightmare to run so I wouldn't have one of them.

Zero - have you been looking for a NSX at all, just get a car which has the engine where u would normally stick the kids.

Paul, weren't you posting just this morning about how you've decided that you're going to keep the S2000 long term?

Ah, clearly another member of Zero Corp has the keyboard this afternoon..........

Morning Mr T

I've had the wife in my lug 'ole saying I show no interest in the kids homework and would sooner be out in the garage cleaning the S2000 or out driving the S2000

She reckons I should have got a car 'we could all enjoy'.......just got me thinking...a Cerb has two rear seats sooooo..........................

I've heard the Esprit is keen on clutches... and the servicing is pretty hellish on these things.

The same kinda goes for the Trevor - usually a 6k interval, costing a fair whack more than the S's service - I looked at a Chimaera, which although not as extreme as the Cerbie still required a lot of periodic checks.

Needless to say, they are generally more reliable when used on a daily basis - just make sure to get a TVR expert to check it before you commit - they can have some stinky hidden surprises (imminent engine rebuilds, worn tappets and so on). Mind you, you may have plenty of dosh to cover all of this!

I was close to doing the deed - but sh@t it in the end!

sadly not.... wouldn't want to budget for much more than 2k a year on servicing

Sorry Zero...

Servicing was about 300-600 quid every 6,000 miles, so depending on mileage, I reckon you'd be alright.

Depends on where you get it done, and the model of Cerbera. As you move up to Tuscans and 350s I think it gets higher.

Nice 04 by the way - that's a corker of a colour!

Cheers, Jim - I'm pretty pleased with it myself!

Paul, I can see how a four seater might be more wife-pleasing. In reality though, would she and the kids actually WANT to join you in your little jaunts? I'm not sure you'd really be able to maintain your rear-end-out action with the Zeroettes on board!

Judging by MarkB's assessment of my driving style at the airfield day....I'd probs end up stuffing a Cerb!........so I doubt I'd want any rear end action in one of those

No ABS either in the Cerbie... what to do is take your fam on holiday, which will come from the money saved on the S, subsequently giving you a 4 month window where you can say 'but I took you all on holiday!' when you want to go out for a blast or when you hear any semblance of a gripe.
