I'm tempted...........
this itch is getting stronger but I think realistically a Rover V8 machine might be more sensible....
Since the S2000 is being used generally as a weekend car there is a temptation to sell it and buy a cheaper TVR and pocket the difference.......
Only problem is I like the S2000 so much and would a 4.0 litre TVR be as quick or quicker than an S2000?
Lookswise I think the S2000 has the edge but I guess it's a newer design so perhaps not surprising although looks are subjective of course
Where there is no doubt is that the TVR sounds soooooo gooood....reallll gooood

Hi Zero,
You know my feelings on this, but then I'm a little biast....
For around the 20k mark you'll get a nice example of an S4s, which in my oppinion is the best of the lot. It'll keep up with the V8's all the way through the rev range. This also has the benefit of being lighter and better blanced than the V8 too.
Personally I love the 2.2 4cyl engine, the V8 is certainly a torque monster and the power delivery is a lot less "strained" than the S4s, however the kick in the back from the turbo on the S4s is a lot more fun! IMO.
The GT3, albeit a smaller engine and slower has a better interior and usually you can get a later model for the same price as an earlier model S4s.
I'd still go for the earlier S4s - just my oppinion. I've drove a copule of GT3 and to me they just seemed a bit more refined - felt much more like a daily driver than the S4 I had. I liked, no, I LOVED the aggresive nature of the Esprit, and hence felt like the beast had been tamed slightly with the GT3 - Again, all my oppinion, but with the S2000 having a character all of it's own with the 9k rpm rev range, I think you'd be more at home in something with more of an edge.
The S4s benefits from better braking, suspension, head and chargecooler over the S4, which makes it a very good buy.
If I can give you any more info, just shout.
Cheers,
JC

I think I am gonna shelve the Cerbera idea.....I just know that the novelty would wear off and I hate 'niggles'...........looking on Pistonheads it has really put me off one of these cars. I'm not going to offend anyone by slagging them off but I really can't see how TVR can expect to compete with the likes of Porsche, Ferrari by offering products with what seems like very little R&D....and the obvious impact on reliablity....I know they offer 'value for money'........when they work...........
I was in the garage last night doing my daily routine of applying another coat of Zymol and I thought I'd be mad letting the car go.........it's a tidy example, in fact probably one of the best '01MY and one of the few that's not been crashed....to ditch it in favour of a TVR when my aspiration for the marque is not 100% seems like madness to me
