Default Insurance clarification please

If for example someone vandalises my car so badly I have to claim on my insurance does this count as a fault claim if the culprits aren't found?

Even if I have NCB protection?

Thanks

Yes.

Its only ever a non fault claim if the total cost of the claim is recovered from the third party.
