Default Integra gone

Well I sold the Teg tonight. Got a price I was happy with which in the end meant that I suffered £630 depreciation in 28 months. Nothing major went wrong with it, although there was a lot of tinkering involved on a few wear and tear parts were replaced.

It was a fun car. Horrible if you weren't in the mood, great if you were And although it had obviously seen plenty of action in it's 132k/10yr life it still provided a lot of enjoyment for us.

In the end though, running three post 100k Honda's was starting to get too expensive and something had to give.

So now we're down to two. The ATR and the S2000. ATR had "a lot" of cash spent on it last year so hopefully we should have a cheap year with that. A BMW 318i touring will take the strain as the mile muncher in the family. S2000 needs an MOT tomorrow, hopefully it won't need much to get it through.

Mine failed on that last year.

Calliper is my concern. I had a seized one last Sunday after the cars winter lay off. Stamping on the brakes a few times seems to have freed it off. But I wonder if it's going to seized again tomorrow (haven't driven it since)

Good to see sound advice being offered here and taken.

£150 on the selling of a £6,000 ten year old S2000 is next to nothing.

But on an older car down around £2,000 this amount of money becomes significant to the buyer.

You recouped that 'drop' I suspect and more on buying the beemer.

Nice one bass man

I'll let the dealer do that next week when it gets serviced, Nick.
Although it seems to be fine now.

Mot failed but only on a missing brake pipe clip. Should be easy enough to sort out next week.

Same happened to mine last year and I flagged this up as a potential issue for cars nearing 10 years old.
We're going to see a lot more of this, especially on daily drivers.

If your caliper piston had seized it WILL seize again even if it's been temporarily freed off. It will do it when your miles from home and smoke starts to pour from the affected wheel area and you'll need to trailer it home as there's fark all else you can do with it. I would just replace it with a re-con unit and be done. In 2 x S2000's i've had to replace 5 calipers due to seizure of the piston. The Nissin calipers that Honda use are total junk. Even the Nissin caliper on my cbr600 seized up!

Whereas I've never had a recurrence.

What on earth do you do to the poor things?
