Dangerous move by plato and does look deliberate if that youtube is the right one...

You can see as neal spins plato swerves left so he's clearly applying pressure to neal.

However, that wasn't what Plato did.

And clerk of the course sticks points on his license which means he was in the wrong. He should have had a drive through.

I don't think you can see enough on the video to be sure what happened. But Plato was clearly ahead and on the inside going into the corner, so you could say it was reasonable for him to take the normal line and use the width of the track on the exit and that Matt Neal should have made room. It's true that Plato went left and off the track once Neal had spun, which you could take to mean he was deliberately pushing Neal off, but you could also say he was struggling to get round the corner and was always going to run wide.

Great, but risky move by Neal at the end of the day, and the risk didn't pay off. I don't think he's in any position to complain about it. At the end of race 3 he pulled off a great move to take 4th, but that was after doing a "Matt Neal special" on Plato's teammate (whose name I forget): i.e. deliberately driving into the back of him in a braking zone, so that he was forced wide and going up the inside. That's his favourite passing method; you see him do it time and time again.

All part of the fun of BTCC though. If you like your touring car championships to be dull, try WTCC.

yes.

plato just childish and does it on purpose, quite blatently too.
look at the 3rd race he had with that seat (i cant remember the drivers name). no contact and a good bit of racing. seat had issues on a few of the slower corners and if that was any of the top drivers, plato would of shunted them off.

ofcourse, it does make for good racing, but it's a shame plato has to be such a prick about things.

infact, i've just realised something with that statement; whack in a lower grid racer in the top 5, and the entire race mentality changes. some excellent close racing when things like that happen. much like the various races from sunshine.co.uk team or pirtek racing from 2010. shame they dont get the top 5 drivers in the championship to go 10th-14th (or even reverse grid!). that'd shake things up a bit.

Fine - bring him along. I read that thread and JP had good logical ground to stand on.

In this instance he hasn't got a soy sauce soaked prawn cracker to stand on - he's guilty of ramming off Matt Neal.

All I can say about that clip (Which doesn't really show it in a good light) is that both of them were on the tarmac when contact occurred. Since Plato hit Neal on the rear Quarter, you can safely say that Neal was clearly ahead, thus Plato should have left him room.

His post race interview confirms this 'He was cheeky to even try passing me on the outside'. Maybe, but he did pass so Plato then decided to 'claim' his portion of track.

It's the 'Toys out of the pram'ness that brings the sport into disrepute. That and Plato trying to look the big d1ck. Unfortunately, despite the license penalty (Which he won't give a stuff about), it paid off for him and he won the race.

Shame but this video doesn't show much more of the crash, but it clearly shows Neal ahead of Plato.
