Default Just watched Le Mans

Bought it a few months ago but only just got around to watching it. The race is on in a few weeks so thought it quite fitting.

I have been to Le Mans, visited the museum and driven the Mullsane Straight, but never actually been to the race (yet )

Film was made in 1971. The script can't have been too taxing on the actors (I could have written it myself with one hand, on the back of a fag packet, whilst taking a piss), but who cares when you watch it.

The racing footage and overall cinematography is bloody awesome, and really puts you in the thick of it.

If you haven't seen it already, buy it, turn up the sound, watch it, and love it

Dave

Have you also seen "Grand Prix"? Made in 1966, plot & script weak, but good driving scenes.

I wouldn't say that (re: weak). Pretty good film I thought, and much better than LeMans.

Graham Hill's acting leaves a bit to be desired.

Both Le Man and Grand Prix are great films IMO. Not for the script or dialogue, but for the driving alone

both great films but have you seen Claude Lelouch's Rendezvous??

has a great history around it, and I believe they still don't know who the driver was.

Their are better copies of it on the net but this is the first i've found.

Le Mans is a classic - just watch out for the speed traps on the Mulsanne when you're there for real!
