Default Lady Owner.

Looking at cars for sale in a magazine and some with the usual 'Lady Owner'
tag.
So what, is that suposed to enhance the car? Completely the opposite for
me.
Most women (and I exclude the ones on here) havn't a clue about their
cars or how to look after them.

Or am I missing something?

Russ.

I agree but then also blokes don't always have a clue (and I'm speaking as someone who runs the company fleet)

Most I know don't know where to put oil, so the engine is going to be shite. The rest always have scrapes and bumps and kerbed wheels.

It would put me off buying another car from a woman, after spending several hundred quid fixing my S from its two previous careful lady owners.

I think it still makes people think that the car hasn't been humped to within an inch of its life (I suppose meaning it hasn't been driven hard). Which all my cars certainly have been. And some of mine haven't lived long enough to be sold on.

But I must say, I do agree. I'd rather buy from a knowlegable petrolhead than some cluless bimbo who can't check the oil and regularly malkies the car into kerbs.

For sale one careful elderly lady owner...

Would that be scarier?

I don't care who has owned the car, so long as it's in good order and they have proof of servicing etc then I'll buy it.

I don't see an advert with 'Lady Owner' and think I must buy that car, it will be a minter

I completely agree and if I was placing an ad for my car I wouldn't put 'lady owner' purely for the fact that it's not required. The person responding to the ad doesn't know what kind of driver / owner I am from that description. For all they know I could crunch gears regularly and brake heavily (and unnecessarily) all the time.

What they don't know is that I do check my oil / water, have it serviced and maintained as required, regularly have it cleaned inside and out however I did curbed it the second day I had it and it's got marks on the door sill from my heels. And as anyone who knows me knows my husband drives more like Miss Daisy than me in this car so perhaps I should put 'one male driver'
