I'm tempted to go again TBH, it's been a while since we've done a big motorsport event......... well as in .......being at the same place as the motorsport event rather than set it up in the house/annex

No races scheduled for June either so it could be a go-er

I think saying the majority is a bit ott, Gad. I've never seen anyone doing any such thing.

Granted there are some scumbags who turn up, but from what I've seen, it's no grater percentage than society at large.
yes, I should have said a majority, or a significant number at certain times and places

but I'd probably stick with my experience of the scumbag element - ime it's far higher than you normally encounter on a day to day basis

I've been the last two years. The first year I stayed on the Houx campsite. They had a shower block and toilets. Got busy in the mornings, but dead quiet at night so I just showered then. Campsite was quiet (relatively speaking) and close to the racetrack. Houx Annex is where the chavs stay; expect constant music blaring, mini-motos going up and down, and generally a lot of partying.

The second time (last year) was completely different. Planned to sleep in the car and stay up for the entire 24 hour race. That plan totally went out the window. In the end, we had hospitality courtesy of Jaguar, they put us up in a Chateux about 15mins from the track and fed us in the hospitality suite for the whole 24hours. Safe to say I throughly enjoyed it last year.

This year (if I go), I think I'll stay in a b&b closer to the city of Le Mans and get the tram to the track. Don't know if I could slum it out in the campsites after what I had last year.

Whatever you choose, you're gonna have an awesome time, drive down on Thursday and take the scenic route, hit the driver's parade on Friday and plan a course of action to try and sneak onto the Mulsanne straight. Make sure you stay till the very end and run out onto the track to see the celebration. Awesome

Have fun.

Yes it does - first one for me (although not camping with you guys).

Only did 2, if I do it again not sure if I'd camp (similar reasons to Gad). Think I might stick to the Classic after last year (until that goes the same way).

As for facilities in camp sites, apart from the queues couldn't really fault them. Always seemed to be well looked after and as clean as can be expected with that number of people going through them. If you're a girl the queues for the loos aren't so bad though

Thanks for all the info.

I have read that B&B's nearby are quite hard to find and tend to be very expensive. I'd prefer to stay in a B&B as i don't really do 'slumming it'.
