I must remember to include the Legend in my list of possibles to replace the Swift. A lot of Honda for the buck.

If I got one, I'd name it Walter in honour of these educationally subnormal Rangers fans paying their own speshul tribute to their old manager ...

Eipc Fial!

Maybe Honda & Mitsubishi are working on a joint 4WD sports saloon to replace the Legend & the Legnum and it will rule?

Couple of those on PH for not much money at the moment - never realised they were AWD .....typical Honda, under advertised and under sold.

The looks don't help either. Especially at £35 large.

The set-back axle NEVER looks good on E-segment cars. The KAs looked more balanced.

But only really sold to the Hendon set, who wouldn't countenance a German car.

35 large was really spectacularly cheap, except for the depreciation! You'd pay that for a basic BMW repmobile now.

But BMW has the leasing scam sewn up, so it's a bit of a no-brainer.

Also, as UF say, Honda under-sold it as they knew they didn't stand a chance in EU. Especially since the V6 Diesel (ugh!) got canned.

Spooky.

In February I came within a Gnat's foreskin of buying an '09, one owner Legend with 22K miles...

... but I kinda have my heart set on a Lexus LS 600h L for the rear seats!

I'm with LG, I think the looks would stop me

I don't think I'm mature enough for a sensible car even if its a twat underneath

Don't get me wrong - nor am I.

But I remember the anti-hero thing of the FIAT 124 SpecialT, which many people mistook for a Lada Zhiguli. Until it mullered them.

The grey paint is double-clearcoated and some poor schmuck Supagarded it, so it's relatively maintenance-free, which I am increasingly beginning to appreciate.

Oddly, I actually now quite like the appearance per se; but then I find (with the exception of the Jaguar and the Fisker) all other modern E-segment appliances so brash, vulgar and very, very hatefully ugly (they are all mostly two-baggers) that they may only be driven by Dick Dastardly. Or Hermann Munster. Even the F10's over-bigness and over-wrinkliness ruins what ought to be a tidy car.

Aaaah... memories.

My Old Dear had a 1438cc Fiat 124 Special T when new. It's untimely demise was a result of her hitting a truck head-on, presumably when trying to beat the family's (up until then) best time from home to the local town...

The gearbox tail-shaft was embedded in the backrest of the passenger seat when they pulled her from the wreckage.

Great car though... apart from the electrics IIRC.
