Can't see why button is staying with Honda of all teams. I know he doesn't want to buy himself out of another contract, but if he doesn't get in a competitive car soon he's going to be too late.

If he's not already.
Probably just PR caution as a result of his Williams debacle. For him to be seen to jump ship any earlier than now would probably be shooting himself in the foot even further.

But I don't think anyone would raise an eyebrow after this arsehole of a car he's got in 2007.

Quite.

Time's running out for him. I don't think anyone would blame him for leaving honda if there was another competitive drive offered.

That being said, even super aguri and spyker are more competitive that honda!

Maybe someone could resurrect an old 1990's minardi. That'd probably be quicker too.

I think we're all forgetting here that Nigel Mansell was and will cotinue to ba a right moaning, whining bastard.

It was the same when he was racing. Always picking on others and moaning about how crap his lot was.

Don't get me wrong here, I can remember filling up watching him win the '92 championship as a 15 year old lad. Then watching him go on to win the Indy was just amazing.

But he's still a pain in the arse.

...and anyway, nobody seems to bother about the hard partying, borderline alcoholic Kimi Raikkonen just 'cos he's doing quite well.

Button's still a class act IMO. I'd be hitting the beer and clubs of a Sunday evening if I was in such a sh1tty car too. Can't blame the lad.

If Mansell raced as well as he can winge he would have been a multiple world champion.
Looks like his son's are of the same mold, they are currently running into other people in British F3 and b***hing about driving standards.

Honda own JB's arse. He isn't going anywhere, apart from maybe Super Aguri if they get bored of him.

Mansell is my favourite British driver of all time; my era I guess. He was one hell of an overtaker.

And let's not forget he won the Australian GP in 94 for Williams after only a couple of races in the car, having tacked it onto the end of a year in IndyCar. (I know DH and MS did not finish that race but he did out-qualify them both, too).

I passed my driving test on his 38th birthday.

It was his 54th birthday yesterday.

Mansell is 100% right.

Which top team will ever give Button a chance? Answer - none of them.

There are too many other drivers out there who are younger and quicker than Button.

I think Button should try and change to Toyota and gamble that they will continue to make the necessary investment to become a top team.

The Honda F1 car is dreadful, I feel very sorry for Button and Barichello.

By all accounts Toyota invested $330 million into their F1 team last year. They have the largest team budget and know one can say they are getting value for money at present.

Button is still one of the best drivers out there, and one of only a few capable of winning the World Championship. The others being Hamilton, Massa and maybe Heidfeld. If Fred Alonso doesn't win it this year, and does leave McLaren he'll struggle to get back into a top team again. Kimi just doesn't seem to have what it takes anymore.

with Nige.

I think Button is a good driver, up there with the likes of Coulthard, Montoya, Ralf, even Barichello: people who will win occasional races in a good car, but not really world champion material, at least not unless he gets lucky in having the best car and an inferior team-mate.

I don't think he'd be a match for Hamilton in the same car.

However, I would say that like Nige and Damon, Jenson has that ordinary bloke quality that makes it easier to cheer for him. Hamilton, along with the likes of Alonso and Raikonnen I find a lot harder to like.

Hamilton is superb driver but he smacks of the corporate image. He's a PR/marketing firms wet dream.
