Default Looking for Lotus advice

Hi all,

Would any current or prev Lotus owners provide me with a bit of advice on the Elise please.

I would like to spend 10-15k on one and would really appreciate any advice on what is the one to go for as I have seen s1, s2, 111s, different engine types etc.

Is this amount of cash enough to get a good one?

ta

the 135R is what I would go for I think, you can get a nice S2 example in your price range.

It's the more 'back to basics' with mild power upgrade, but the handling is supposed to be the best / least compromised. If you can call any Elise compromised. I miss my boggo S1 dearly. Was a great little car and couldn't buy it back for anything like what I sold it for 7 years ago!

99 S Azure blue S1, sold for £8k with 45k miles on.

dammit!

I shall watch this thread with interest, as I'm possibly thinking of selling the Westfield and putting the funds into an Elise.

Thanks Phil. Bada bing suggested the 111r Toyota edition but I think that might be over budget. I was looking at 111s 156bhp versions. There's a few of those.

Infact it has proved a key thing. I feel excited about the prospect of owning a good one. Never felt that about the rs nor any 3ltr TDI. I think this is def for me. The new s2k!bring out the kung fu pants!

I think you might just get into a 111R at the top end of your budget...

Good luck with the search and keep us posted, likewise, a car I would go back to.

Are you still able to come to Goodwood on the 6th Sept? We've got some amazing cars lined up now, inc some 50's & 60's stuff worth millions.
