Do it do it do it.

If you get a 111R, Lotus will slap a factory fitted supercharger on it for 4 large.

It really is warp factor 9 when that happens.

That epiphany moment, my guess, the A52 once you crossed the A1. Lovely bit of road even at speed limits.
The moment dawned properly when iI was being tailed by an a4 and I absolutely cut chunks out of it on corners and then on the straight it would tear arse up again. On the corners it felt like my own little f1 car. Really planted and real fun. Quite amazing for the money.
4 things

1. I still don't get the numberplate !!! It's been racking my brain!
2. Good description above-very similar to how I described it!
3. Ron when's this meet? Might be tempted to brink Loki out
4 All this talk of lotus I'm so tempted to put my name down for a v6

I was after this one:

Unfortunately it's now sold before I could get to it. I've seen a couple of others I quite like the look of, but they're all a fair hike to view, so need to be pretty selective with which ones I make the trip to see.

Yeah, but TBF I used to do that with tailgating A4 Cunts in my old Prelude. Howling understeeeeeeeeer and they stopped tailgating, oddly.

Watched a 5th gear on sky yesterday, S3 vs 1M I think it was. Even the S3 just washed out every corner. Looked, to pinch carpets analogy, about as much fun as humping a pretty corpse.

Audi = dull dull dull

Our golf does it but you can get the back sliding too

Nice to see you genuinely excited about something like you were about your S2000, Colin.

Very jealous.....

Totally with you on this, I've said it before after testing a 1.6 and a Europa about 2 years ago.. and then yesterday testing an NA Evora and the newer S3 Elise S with the chargecooled 1.8 motor.. on all 4 cars the main thing that spoilt the first impression was the gear change being sloppy and inaccurate which for me is a real turn off, especially after the having lived with the S2000's gear change for the past 5+ years now. Also the clutch in the Evora I tested was really heavy so just added to the misery.

I just wish Lotus would do whatever is necessary to address what to me are fundamental issues in the engineering of these areas. If you look at SELOC there are regularly negative threads on there about the gear change in all of Lotus variants that suggest various fixes and updates to parts to try and improve things.. Newer cables. heavy duty cables, re-routing of cables, improved gear linkages etc etc; Lotus really need to take note and get it nailed.

Sorry to come across all negative on your new car purchase thread Mr Carper, it's just that I want to love the Lotus cars as an obvious place to go now that Honda have no current worthy offerings but the whole gear change thing just has me walking away shaking my head at what is otherwise a brilliant car.

Sounds like a cracker, to be fair though you could have afforded one with probax seats if you had cut down on a few of those £40 lunches..

There's no excuse for lotus producing gear linkages like that. I never understand how the independents who produce the Honda conversions get the linkages bang on. The gear change in mine is better than the s2000's. I don't know why lotus can't sort it.

If I had a non Honda elise I'd take it to an independent and replace it with the linkages from the Honda elise kits
