Lotus Evora
Promise to keep you all updated.
Mine's yellow. I remember seeing that shade in a Elise about 6 years ago and thought that was the best looking thing I'd ever seen.
Can't imagine owning an orange one though
I don't think running costs will be much different to the S. Fuel eco is ~20% better, and tonnes of torque, so shouldn't need to cane it. Also doesn't need super unleaded AFAIK.
Insurance will be similar or a touch more, but tax is half the price (my S2K was an '09'er).
Consumables will be... appropriate... for the performance of the car. Servicing every 9k miles, but the engine doesn't need too much maintenance I don't think.
Depreciation remains to be seen, but hopefully it's done most of it's depreciating already. I think Lotus shot themselves in the foot by pricing it higher than the (quicker) Cayman S. Used cars, on the other hand, look like good value for the extra-ordinary handling prowess. Being Evo and Top Gear cars of the year helps also.

Congrats ! You won't regret it.
There's one for sale in a Lexus/Toyota dealership 2 miles from me. I'll probably call them next week fro a test drive.
I'm not 100% sure of the colour scheme though (Red with a white stripe down its middle) as it's a bit too much mid life crisis, but then again I have just turned 40 so who knows.

I've seen that one advertised.
Trust me it will get the attention it deserves without the go-chavver stripe. Also red screams "pretend Ferrari" to me.
Much more important to get the sport pack; tech pack if you ever want to reverse it and like listening to music in the car; rear seats to sell it, and close-ration 'box to make it less lazy.

Ah ... that time between paying the deposit and collecting the car when minutes turn into months. And then, when the time comes to collect the car, and you know you should give it a thorough once over, the excitement inevitably means there are umpteen niggles that you overlook and don't spot until you get it home.
But of course you've got all those "I'm just going out for a quick drive" moments to look forward to ...
Enjoy it when it arrives ...

The only thing (which is rare) I'd insist on is xenons. I don't think they can be retro-fitted, for homologation reasons.
One thing I love about the 86 is it has all that shi' on it as standard, but no real fripperies.
Cruise can be retro-fitted relatively cheaply so I'm told, and most of the tech pack can be also (less cheaply and with a good buit more hassle I understand).
Not the most sophisticated CC though.

What an excellent post!
Right on the money. So excited. So hate the wait.
It seems my first drive in it will be to work over the weekend; on the dreary A19, in the dark, in dreary weather no doubt....
...and it will be the best drive of my life
