Still never understood why it doesn't develop much power for a 6.2l engine?
My thoughts exactly.

Most commonly we see > 100hp per Litre on all modern sports cars.

Take BMW sixes and Honda fours, both are bullet proof instruments.

Thanks the link, extremely helpful and interesting as the Bentley V8 Twin Turbo which i do the mechanical development on is very similar to the GM motor :-)

Feck that's seriously old tech!
Haven't seen anything they're boasting about as being state of the art that hasn't been in use for at least 10 years anywhere else

If there's anything GM Powertrain knows well, it's cylinder heads and air flow. GMPT's "ruthless pursuit of power" has paid-off in five different high-performance heads since MY97: the original LS1 head, those for LS2 and LS6, the super-trick LS7 head and, now, the LS3 along with its offshoot, the LS9 head.
Feck off!!!
Look at what BMW do with (smaller but) similar engine sizes or Honda do in BHP/Litre and compare it to GM

If they knew anything about getting that head to breath properly that engine would be putting about 600~700bhp easily.

She should be able to take plenty more if you try

you is missing the point though.

its simple.

430 bhp is quite good under my right foot.

servicing cost less than the s2000.

oil change ,thats it.

its a good engine.trust me

p.s. fluffy.apparently a remap and a more agressive cam shaft will give one 450rwhp.

These V8 engines are not all about pure power and rev's, they are more about character, uber high torque and that lovely V8 exhaust noise!

The Bentley V8 is 6.75litres and is a pushrod engine like the GM engine but with 2 turbo's bolted to it, the power output of 505PS is pretty poor for the engine capacity and being force induction but it does make 1050Nm of torque at 1750rpm all the way to 3250rpm, until you feel that in a car no one really understands what the whole V8 is all about.

Oh and its rev limiter is at 4700rpm!
