MG TF
I dont get it.
This place will die and be so bloody boring if you have your way.
I'l go away again if that suits you.
As for the bent son its just a workshop thing, I really dont care and
neither does he.

Cn't comment on the TF but my ex got the MGF as soon as she finished Uni. Jeez it was bad.
Does the TF have the hydra-gas suspension? in theory, could do a good job I guess (MarkB / Nick Graves any comments on the theory?) but christ it was awful to drive.
For those that haven't met me I am 6' 2" and I couldn't get my left leg anywhere near comfortable due to the 9 foot wide centre console / transmission tunnel or so it felt.
The car was heavy for the 1.8L engine, same as the engine in the S1 Elise IIRC `Cat 7's etc but the car was put together by those who failed the basic "Build a Meccano crane" team.
Awful engineering.
However as a marketing thing - the ladies loved them. Sold by the bucket loads. Syle icon of the time I would go far as to say.

In Germany there's an auto club called the "Queerlenker" which is a word play on "transverse link" or "Queer steerer" depending how you read it. Which is quite funny.
So now that new labia has FOAD, I suggest anyone who cannot cope without a compo payout for being offended does the same too, or they're in for an unhappy few years...
The MGF had interconnected Hydragas, so it had the famous metro 'bounce' down the road. The TF had conventional springs. The MGs drove well and were refined, somewhat to the detriment of enjoyment. Also the driving position etc felt like what it was; a sawn-up Metro.
Not a bad effort for what it cost to develop (about £1M or something equally unbelievable) and fine for the ladies. But then so's a butchered peugeot, apparently. The MX-5 was in a different league.
HGF is annoying but there are a couple of minoe technical fixes - real metal head dowels and a slow-opening thermostat - which ought to cure the problem that BMLoser should have allowed them to fix at the time...
