Pug 307: Not bad as such, but it seemed to have kept all the Pug bad points and thrown away all the advantages. Miserable.

Head gasket failure is a common fault on TF's, we wouldn't take one into stock unless proof of failure and remedial work came with the car.

I heard somewhere the term gay came from GAY= Good As You, but now they're too lazy for capitals and just claim to be gay, I blame Larry Grayson.

I hired a 307 CC and it was a trully awful car. With the roof down, all the weight of the roof was over/behind the rear wheels, and therefore the car had little or no traction in the dry, let alone the wet. Also, owing to the rake of the screen, the windscreen pillar was a major hazzard for smacking yourself in the face when getting in or out. Also, you couldn't actaully see any of the corners, so road positioning and parking was a 'best guess probability' sort of affair.

Add on gutless and noisy when revved, wallowy and ponderous suspension and you have the perfect recipie for a dog!

And breathe...

The engine has good output, excellent SFC and is extremely lightweight.

Ideal for Caterhams & Loti, even if it's acoustically unsatisfying.

The most shit thing is that dowel & 'stat fix would not have cost a lot. I believe the Chinese have paid for it, which BMW wouldn't.

If you think a Berlingo van is bad try a C15D, but its horse,s for course,s isn,t it. And my one did 190k miles and not touched apart from routine service including the one set of rear brake shoes. And er it often had near a tonne of stuff in it, literally 25,25kg weights and tools and two blokes.

My S had a new gear box @ 6k now is that shit?

I always thought the MG was sort of ok for the efforts of BL and the pipe smoking cardy wearing "thats the way we have always done it" crowd.
