I'm more upbeat today. Windscreen should be fitted tomorrow, and the 2 cracks in the bodywork I can get fixed at my leisure. All I need after that is 2 clips for my spare grille and a wiper blade from a Xsara Picasso.

Glad to know I'm not the only one on my very own wildlife cull.

Bada, it happens. I hit so many animals in the first month of ownership i started to think that moonrock must be invisible to them.

You're just unlucky that you've taken damage because of it.

Did a great pigeon in the S;

It was pecking in the road & looked up to see what the noise was.

Since one never brakes nor swerves for animals, I looked in the mirror; it was still standing there, like the proverbial headless chicken. Nearly forgot to look back at the road, it was so unbelievable.

Never found the head.

On a similar vien to Nick i drove over a robin - it managed to fly directly under the car and seemed fine as it flew off after coming out the other side. Mind you it did still have its head.

I hit a pheasant in the S2000 with the roof down, just a glancing blow, enough to send it cartwheeling onto my ex's head.

Most satisfying.

I hit a massive gull in the S2000 once. The annoying thing is that it swooped down and smashed into the car rather than failing to gain altitude. This p*ssed me off so I jumped out the car whilst it was still moving (slowly) leaving laura to deal with it whilst I went to kick the seagull into next week. The f_cker took off again before I could boot him!

My favourite bird death was when I watched a pigon fail to gain altitude vs an Astra Van doing easy 90mph! There was just a massive "POOF" as it hit radiator followed by a massive ball of feathers - LMAO

Poor cat

Hope you get the car sorted BB.

I hit a pheasent in an Audi at 80mph... luckily it was a hire car as it destroyed the front grill... the strange thing was that even though there was an explosion of feathers, I could not find the body

That must have taken some practice!
