Missing old cars
Is it just me that has a pang of regret when I sell a car? I'm excited to be picking up my new car tonight but also I know i'm going to miss my little old CRZ...It wasn't to everyone's taste but it has served me well over the last 4 years.
I miss my Civic Coupe now - wish I still kept it for a daily as it was uber reliable, had it for 5 years and sold it in a hurry to get my S2000.
Wish I had had the money to keep both, but alas, wasn't the case at the time.

There are 2 cars I wish I had never sold.
1990 Rover Mini Cooper RSP. I bought it fairly cheap at the time and sold it for £1200 more than I paid, on a £1500 car that's not bad. Sadly the new owner sold it on and it became a stripped out race car.
2004 Honda S2000. My first S2000 which I sold as I got offered good money and I thought that I was happy to go for something else. I miss the ladyboy blue colour shining nicely in the sun and the aero kit makes a huge difference but I'm too tight to spend £1k getting it for my current S2000.

Not a chance.
Cars are metal and plastic and emotional attachment to them passes me by. I might associate having a good time with a particular car but I never miss the car itself.
We are living in a curious period when anything old is currently portrayed as a classic.

This is the engine in my 1966 Cortina.

(Still needs a little cleaning up)
A friend is in the process of rebuilding a 1964 Cortina GT, and I really do not get the appeal of this antiquated and agricultural Ford stuff.
Another friend's brother is into restoring vintage Atco lawnmowers - these have more appeal to me than a Cortina. Very likely because they feature advanced technology in comparison to the Ford...
