I don't take what he said as gospel, but I've always been mostly negative about modifying, and unless buying a track car, would only buy an unmolested example. most people are idiots and don't know what they are doing. There are exceptions to this, but as a general rule it works.
There must be a veiled complement in here somewhere

As for JC.
By his own admission he's as far away from an engineer as its possible to get.
WTF would he know about modifying cars

Actually,

Gad once bought a hellamodded one cheaply and used the proceeds of flogging the tat (some of which was good stuff) to restore it to proper working order.

And there are a few sympathetically modded cars that one might buy; it's generally they get returned to standard since they are worth more like that & the genuine rice bits really holds its value.

But yes; "what on earth were they thinking?" is usually what springs to mind...
I also heard a rumour that Gad had used a bread knife to remove the side skirts (and some of the paint) from an S2000 that he subsequently sold to another S2Ki member darn sarf...

You lot really need to get over to the main forum more often

You need to learn that "slamming" the car, dialing in stupid degrees of camber and having track geo improves the cars handling!

Putting the front number plate in the windscreen helps too.

Come on Dan,you should know that a front screen number plate is NOT a handling mod,it is a performance mod! Proven to increase bhp by an order of magnitude.

Does wearing a baseball cap backwards still reduce drag, or is that only in coupes?

I have a f**kin very loud exhaust on my Lotus. At 45 I cringe.
