Are we talking about the same BBC??
They have always been lefty green tossers with no fecking idea.
Looking forward to some new stealth taxes to squeeze the pennies out of us in the name of 'saving the planet'.

I haven't cut the small bit of grass at the front of my house in ages. It's carbon offsetting, honest.
I wonder if it makes up for me doing 600 miles per week at 33.9mpg.

Braking is the problem; that's effectively throwing away fuel. So all they need to do is remove the things that make you slow down: middle-laners, speed cameras, roundabouts, cyclists...

Interesting article here

I actually try to drive in a fuel efficient way most of the time, especially on busy roads. It's an interesting game to see how many times the car in front brakes unnecessarily, then accelerates away from you, closing up on the car in front of it, then braking to back off and so on.
Teaching the far-quits how to drive properly will help reduce pollution. Watch the cloud of soot emerge every time a diesel accelerates, reducing this can only be a good thing.

Picking up on Lovegroova's point, have you noticed how many people will drive along a straight road/motorway & then brake for no reason whatsoever?
Or sit in the fast lane for ages only to pull into the slow lane such that they have to brake for the car therein?
Beats the shit outta me.

It does puzzle me why people brake for no reason. But then a lot of things other road users do puzzles me

The one that gets me is when you're following one of the terminally stupid 'speed kills' brigade through a 40 zone and the suddenly realise they are doing 43 and then slam on the brakes. Because that 3 mph above the limit is far more dangerous than you slamming on your anchors for no apparent reason you fecking retard.
Any sensible person would simply lift off, classic case of rule following for rule following and not seeing the bigger picture.

Can't we cut emissions by digging a big pit & pushing all the eco-pimps into it?
It would save billions in useless wages too.

And while we are at it, can't we chuck in the Chavs on benefit too.
