Default More F1 Changes

Patrick Head and Rory Byrne have been working on new draft regulations for 2013.

Small front and rear wings and shaped underfloors. Ring any bells?

I can't decide if this is good or bad, on the one hand, it is going back to a time when F1 was exciting and it will mean closer and more overtaking meaning better racing.

But F1 is supposed to be the pinnacle of technology, engineering and drivers, to go back to an 80s design seems somewhat counter-intuitive for the sport which is supposed to be the best of the best.

They should investigate the skirt technology again and turbo V8s. Make the cars faster

More focus on the pit girls, that'd make it more interesting

Let the teams do whatever they want, but give them a max budget. That'll make it interesting.

With the new engine rules being such a radical change, how/when are they going to freeze the engine development? I'd rather see the teams trying to out develop each other during the season than have it all go on behind the scenes on dyno's in 2012.

They should have a seperate "open" class race where it's all about how fast you can get round. No CC limits, nothing. Just balls out all the way.

Let some really cool technology develop.

As good as that sounds, it'd be completely boring.

Worse, you'd have problems with drivers passing out subject to g-forces.

The resulting machines would be aircraft with wheels - Turbofan engines, steerable aero and cornering over 8G's

The rules are trying to give us closer racing
