More Jailtime for car related stuff

Well, he's not sentenced yet, but it looks like jailtime according to a Magistrates Blog I read.

Drinking large amounts of beer is all about practice. I used to be able to knock back 10 without too much issue. Now it'd cripple me.
But I'm surprised anyone could put the key in the lock after 15 pints.

To take this off on a tangent . . .
Quite a while back I remember a discussion about how much the volume of beer effected someone compared to the alcohol content.
We were students at the time, so purely in the interests of scientific discovery we set out to find out.
A night of heavy drinking followed with one of the people in the group drinking pints of water rather than beer.
The results were that it’s easier to drink 10 pints of beer because you get pissed and stop caring, but drinking 10 pints of water is difficult because you’re sober and you feel sick from drinking so much water.

You can die from drinking too much water.
It was done recently - I remember the news in the D/Mail.

My housemate was pulled over for driving with her lights off. She was mortified in the morning when I went to see if she was ok and she started telling me about it. She had, as she put it "had a skinful on the vodka" - the police breathalised her and she was clear, even though it was obvious she had been drinking.
A VERY lucky escape and something she certainly won't ever try again.

More anger at irrational sentencing; ABD reported on one uninsured driver who knocked down a pedestrian, tried to conceal the evidence & got 21 months.
Then there was that 160 mph biker who harmed no-one.
The system is about as close as you can get to corrupt, without actually being so.
