Default More points.....?

I was travelling north on the A4146 in the Focus today, dual carriageway, 70 limit, when I spotted two police vans parked at the side of the road. I'm pretty sure they were camera vans. At that moment my (analogue) speedo probably showed about 78.

I have read posts elsewhere that suggest that the tolerance that may be applied is 10% of the speed the police measure +2mph. Anyone know if that's generally the case?

Normally at an indicated 78 my satnav reads 73-ish. But maybe my satnav is wrong and my speedo correct!

I'm going to be pig sick if I'm done again as it was exactly the same place as my last ticket (doing 94 in the S) over two years ago. Never seen them there since until today.

What's the general consensus? D'you reckon I'm safe? Or is the current lack of cash driving forces to screw us even harder?

I reckon you are probably safe, my GPS read about 75 when doing 78, but yeh, close!

From my (limited) experience after talking to my mate's Dad who is a traffic cop, the police don't tend to care if it is below 80, once you go over 80 they get a bit miffed.

In saying that, I don't tend to go about 75 just in case!

you'll be fine.

sub 85 and you're fine....unless it's chucking it down, or really busy.

I'd like to think on the whole, the rozzers excercise a certain degree of common sense.

78 on speedo = low 70's on reality...nothing to worry about IMO

I worked out the older SiRF Star 3 chipsets in many twatnavs are accurate to better than +/- 0.5mph.

All oem binacles over read, but oddly the signal to it from the gearbox or wherever is bang on.
