Possibly McLaren think they're too big for the FIA and can do as they please, Hamilton reckons he's the hottest property around but his lack of loyalty might put off prospective employers.
F1 will survive without both, it's time the rules were upheld and it may be Mclaren's turn to be made an example off?

I don't think I've ever raced in a championship where one or more people weren't cheating.

Trick cams, iffy gear ratios, slippy diffs, I've seen all sorts.

Some people want to win at all costs, even in club racing. I can't imagine there's a team on the grid in F1 that doesn't want to win at all costs, given the sums of money and corporate involvement.
So it doesn't come as much of a surprise that they cheated, I'm sure there's a lot more of it going on than we or the FIA know about, or can prove at least.

I'm only surprised at the manner of their getting caught.
