The vote by the FIA is coming up on the 3rd June.

The press stories are starting to build up and report that a number of groups have sent Max a letter to ask him to resign (and then they'll give him a vote of confidence).. I guess it looks 'better' on his CV. But whilst they represent 85% of motorists, they only represent 25% of the FIA members in the vote.

Bernie has given him a black ball, effectively, by stating that the FIA should be run by a 'respected president'. But F1 is only part of the FIAs remit and probably won't tip the balance.

I think he'll get a vote of confidence, but that they'll find another way to get him to leave.

What say you?

Not sure on how this one's going to go now Rob.

Personally, I now think he should go. But if there's one man who's arrogant and up himself enough to fight it out without dignity, it's Max.

He can get up to whatever he likes IMO but, now that it's public, his reputation is tarnished beyond repair and he shouldn't be the man at the head of the FIA.

Actually, I thnk it should be Flav as president-everyone knows he's a dirty old bastard

Don't forget the fact that like most established organisations it's a bit of an old boys club. Plenty of favours to call in I expect.

I take the action of the small number of clubs who have made public their choices as an indication of the fact that they know Max has a lot on his side and they they're trying to give others who are wavering some clue that others will publicly support a no confidence vote..

I think he should go, for the same reasons as Bernie, but don't agree that his private life is anyone elses business. But now it's out, it's worth a good laugh about it and a few lame jokes at his expense

He will get his vote of confidence, and he will be in office until 09 - I hate to say that because I think the guy should have never been given the job in the first place, and I believe he should have gone the moment this news broke out. I despise the man, but I am almost 100% certain he still has enough clout to scare most into voting for him .... unfortunately

This is an excellent opportunity for politics to kick in.

Boot the old guy out, act as the ambassador for the motor sport community by oposing horribvle sex defiants and get a nice new job a few months earlier than planned.

That's how I would see this

Today is the day.

The clubs are meeting at 10am in France, so should be underway by now. And the vote will be announced at the end of the meeting. So that will be after a michelin champagne luncheon with dancing girls and a few cigars.

Bernie has been doing his media bit to get rid of Max, but I think it'll still be a close call.. I wonder if they'll announce the numbers of votes for / against / abstained.

Bernie has been putting the boot in.

Apart from his comments being published in the sunday times at the weekend saying max should go, he's now spreading the view that if Moseley stays on he won't resign at the end of next year as he's already promised to do.

Power games at the top of the FIA indeed!

I've also read that any absentions to the vote will count against Max - to allow those too scared to vote to carry some weight. I guess that is fair as it's a vote of confidence, so if you're confident, come and vote.

Maybe we need a poll on his successor..

He needs to have an absolute majority, but i don't know where abstentions fall on that. Does he have to have 51% of the vote in his favour or 51% of all the people that voted for or against?

I suspect the former.
