Just that its an imort.

I found the same company when my son was searching for one , amazing value

I think they come from Cyprus , I am not sure but iirc , they have a private company warranty rather than Sub.

Yup - normally Cyprus.

How much difference that makes depends on the model of car. With the S2000, for instance, it makes almost no difference since the cars all come from the same factory with the same specification. Other marques have rather more market-differentiated ranges - so, for instance, air con is more common for cars going to Spain, Italy etc than northern Europe, and vice versa for sun roofs.

You need to check how different the model in question is to the UKDM version you'd get from a franchised dealer. There may be none or little, in which case a

Buy all Scoobies from Ian Litchfield (Litchfield Imports). Great savings and the cars are fully warranted! I was considering the 05 Spec C from him. Just can't afford the damn thing!!!

Before Cyprus became part of the EU cars imported from Cyprus pre 2004 used to have an issue with manufacturers honouring the warranty. After this date they have to provide a minimum 2 year warranty.

I bought my06 s/wagon from motorpoint.
The customer car i recieved was very poor.

Tried to make a warranty claim for the laquar coming off the wheels only to find out the car wasn't on subaru uk's data base (no warranty at all) this was sorted out no problem via my local subru dealer after they put me in touch with subaru uk.I now have the full 3yr 60k mls warranty

My advice if u buy any import from motorpoint or otherwise is make sure u get everthing in writing from them before u part with any cash.

the scoobys from motorpoint come in via malta now

Another factor worth considering is servicing. As the servive intervals in the log book r much closer together when its an import.(Every 3k mls i think)

I bought a BMW from than once a few years back. Saved 5-6k off list so got a far better spec car than I would have from BMW UK who wouldn't shift on pricing. No problem with warranty or anything else apart from the car was shite but that's not really Motorpoints fault.

I'd certainly use them again but go in with your eyes open knowing the warranty situation. I got shafted when I px'd it but I expected to.

I bought my S2000 from Motorpoint - all good, its down to the individual to register the car with Honda UK at your main dealer and Im sure its the same with Imprezas - something you should have been told admitedly but not a problem.

My S came from Malta. Check Scoobynet for more details experiences but my Impreza was an Import from Belgium and I never had a problem but the service intervals at the time were just the same as the UK.

IIRC import Scoobs are a nightmare to register with Subaru UK (International Motors). There was a big hoo-ha about this recently, but I don't remember the outcome.

I have used Motorpoint before, just remember:

- The price does not include tax and registration
- Make sure you have a service book with a full dealer stamp and PDI stamp
- You will only get 2 years manufacturers warranty on most marques (Honda = 3 years / 60k)
- Ignore their extras e.g. Gap, tyre insurance and get your own

They treat you like shit, but it can be worth it with the savings.

As soon as you purchase contact the UK customer services for the vehicle and register with your local dealer to ensure that the warranty is covered.
