Concur with the Hummer Vs Prius debate - saw a report by MIRA, comparing a variety of different vehicles. In the top 10 of the report in terms of through-life carbon footprint was the Land Rover Defender. This is hardly suprising, as more than 50% of all LRs ever built are still in use today!

Given that they have been in service for over 60 yrs, that's quite a figure!

Add to this the fact that most LR owners will use secondhand parts from broken vehicles rather than new parts, plus the thriving recon parts market, and you have a great outlook.

So, +1 for V8 lovin' as the way ahead!
