Mrs_6301 Prangs her car
Mrs_6301 still VERY grumpy about having the pic not only on here but also on farcebook... I did suggest that the easiest way to avoid this would have been to not drive into a stationary object.
As you may probably have deduced, this did NOT go down very well and almost resulted in me sleeping in the spare room!
SWMBO is still umming and ahhing over getting the insurance company involved, but as Nick points out, I think that this would be a bad thing.
So, once she stops faffing, I'll keep you posted and hopefully close out with an "after" pic.

That's the sort of bravery that can get you hurt, remember, you have to sleep at some point in time
Moggy - that's EXACTLY what I was banging on about!
Ian - if you're wearing flying suit & parachute, seated in the ejector, I'd tell her that of course, insurance will have a record of the claim and it will affect future premiums, Prot. NCB or no!

Handily, as an Air Engineer, I need only toddle about 50 yards down the corridor with a packet of biscuits in hand in order to lay my hands on the correct PPE for the task at hand...
I narrowly avoided the Martin Baker tie and have now convinced the better looking half to do the decent thing and deprive the insurers of their pound of flesh by having it repaired sensibly and cheaply... Just need to get her organised enough to book it in now.
I think the rule of thumb from now on is this:
If it's your fault and there's no 3rd party damage, then just chalk it up to experience and pay from your own pocket to fix it.
If it's someone else's fault or there is a 3rd party involved, go with the insurance company every time. Their lawyers are bigger than yours.
