Default mx5 fail

Parked up next to a new mx5 in a carpark, roof down enjoying the sun while waiting for mrs SW. Fella and his mrs come back to the mx5 and guy goes to drive. Saw me looking at him, then turned to his mrs and said "i think you'd better drive love." Hahahaaaa!

Honda S2000... the car the mx5 wanted to be when it grew up.

i keep looking at the early ones ....

set of tyres - 200 quid
roof - 250 quid
tax - < 200 quid
insurance - < 400 quid
35mpg easy
Handling - excellent

The only downside is the loss of 100bhp that you only miss 1/10th of the time ....

The later models with the folding hard top make a LOT of sense.

Anyone heard of 09 Mazdas sptting engines out?

Yes...my local friendly garage has been buying a number of Mk3s (not just MY09) who's engines have gone pop. Looks like they're not too resilient

My friend has an 08 1.8.

Engine had to be totally replaced due to oil starvation.

FFS does no one make a MODERN decent handling soft topped car that doesn't come with a boat load of expensive hidden issues?
